On this free tour of Porto's Ribeira, we'll discover the importance of the Douro River while exploring one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city.

Tour Details

We'll meet in the old town and set off on this free tour of the Ribeira, one of the most charming districts in Porto.

Along the route, we'll pass iconic spots such as the Largo de São Domingos, a square steeped in history where traders, sailors, and merchants from all over the world once mingled.

Nearby, we'll see the Palácio das Artes, a space dedicated to contemporary artistic creation, before heading to the Escada do Caminho Novo. These famous steps, tucked into the picturesque Miragaia neighborhood, offer spectacular views of the colorful facades looking out over the Douro. Perfect for photos!

The tour will also take us to the Church of São Francisco, the most impressive Baroque church in the city. We'll pass the Palácio da Bolsa and the Casa do Infante, a historic house turned museum located close to Praça do Infante Dom Henrique. Did you know he was one of the great driving forces behind the Portuguese Age of Discovery?

After a route lasting between 2 and 2.5 hours, we'll wrap up the free tour in the heart of the Ribeira.
